A Quiet Place

Many times in the New Testament we read that Jesus went to a quiet place to pray and rest. Mark 6:31 says, “Jesus and his followers were in a very busy place. There were many, many people. Jesus and his followers did not even have time to eat. Jesus said to his followers, ‘Come with me. We will go to a quiet place to be alone. There we will get some rest.'”
Sometimes it is good to get away from other people and be alone. Our Bible Reading today gives us a good description of a quiet place. A quiet place is where we can feel “like a satisfied baby in his mother’s arms” (verse 3). When we feel like that, we can communicate with God through prayer. And, God can communicate with us through His Word, the Bible.
Several times in my life, God has given me special answers to my problems. At these times, I was alone in a quiet place. Then I felt peaceful and calm. I knew that God could help me through my problems.
God wants to communicate with you today. Be sure to spend some time in a quiet place talking with Him.
