A Window

If I am in a room without windows, I don’t know if the sun is shining or if it is raining. But if I look out a window, I can see the world outside. I can see God’s creation and know what is happening with the weather.

The Bible is like a window. When we read it, we can look back and see the creation of the world, the boat that saved people and animals from the flood, the Israelites as they came out of slavery in Egypt, the shepherd boy who became a king, the prophets, Jesus and the apostles and the early church leaders.

As Christians, the Holy Spirit helps us see many other things in the Bible. These things cannot be seen by people who do not follow Jesus. Paul talks about this in 1 Corinthians 2:10. “But God has shown us these things through the Spirit. The Spirit knows all things. The Spirit even knows the deep secrets of God.”

The Holy Spirit will help us see people in the world who need to know about Jesus. God’s Spirit will also help us look forward to heaven and see the wonderful blessings God has waiting for His children. Read God’s Word and allow the Holy Spirit to help you love and serve God.
