I saw a video of a little boy. His hands and face were covered with chocolate brownie crumbs. The little boy said, “I didn’t eat the brownies.” The little boy’s words and actions did not match.
Some Christians today are like that little boy. They say that they follow Jesus. But then these people lie, gossip, cheat, steal and refuse to help needy people. Their actions do not match what they say. These people ruin their Christian testimony to others.
In verse 18b of our Bible Reading, James said, “I will show you my faith by the good I do.” The things we do should be proof of our faith in Jesus Christ. If our words and actions don’t match, some people may never follow Jesus. Our actions should show others that Jesus is our Lord and Savior.
Examine your actions today. Be sure that you are truly following Jesus and His teachings in the Bible.
