Apostles (7)

In Luke 6:14-16, we see a list of the names of Jesus’ apostles. Bartholomew is one name in the list. From reading other Bible verses, it seems that he was also called Nathanael.
Our Bible Reading tells us about how Nathanael first began to follow Jesus. Yesterday we talked about Philip. He found Nathanael and told him about Jesus. Philip said that Jesus was from Nazareth. But Nathanael said (verse 46b), “Nazareth! Can anything good come from Nazareth?”
Philip encouraged Nathanael to go and see Jesus. Jesus said about Nathanael, “This man coming is truly one of God’s people. There is nothing false in him” (verse 47b). Nathanael met Jesus. He said to Jesus, “Teacher, you are the Son of God. You are the King of Israel (God’s people)” (verse 49b).
Jesus said there was nothing false in Nathanael. That meant Nathanael was truthful and sincere. I want to be like Nathanael. Do you want to be like him, too?
