Apostles (9)

Thomas was another of Jesus’ apostles. Our Bible Reading today tells us about a time after Jesus’ resurrection.
Thomas was not with the other apostles when they first saw Jesus. They told Thomas that they had seen Jesus. But Thomas said, “I will not believe it until I see the nail holes in his hands. And I will not believe until I put my finger where the nails were and put my hand into his side” (verse 25b).
Later, Thomas saw Jesus. Jesus said to Thomas, “Put your finger here. Look at my hands. Put your hand here in my side. Stop doubting and start believing”(verse 27b). Then Thomas believed that Jesus had risen from the dead.
I think that verse 29 is especially interesting. Jesus told Thomas, “You believe because you see me. Those people that believe without seeing me will be truly blessed.” We cannot see Jesus today. He is not living on earth now. But we can still believe. We are the people Jesus was talking about!
Do you believe that Jesus died and rose again?
