Are We There Yet?

Traveling with young children can be an interesting experience. Young children are often impatient, and they do not understand the time it takes to travel from one place to another. It is easy for us to become upset when a child keeps asking, “Are we there yet?”
Our lives are like a trip. That trip begins when we are born and ends when we die. Some people live many years and their trip is long. Other people only live a few years so their trip is short. Only God knows how long we will live on earth.
In our Bible Reading today, Paul had a problem. He wanted to be in heaven with God, but Paul also hated to leave his friends behind on earth. Finally, Paul decided that his goal should be to please God, no matter if he was living on earth or in heaven. In verse 9b Paul said, “We want to please him when we are living here in our body or there with the Lord.”
You can please God today by helping others follow Jesus on their journey through life.
