At the Cross (3)

After Jesus died, a man named Joseph took Jesus’ body to prepare it for burial. Joseph was a member of the Jewish council. Verse 50 of our Bible Reading tells us that he “was a good man, who lived the way God wanted.” Joseph did not agree with the Jewish leaders who had killed Jesus.
Joseph took Jesus’ body from the cross, wrapped it in cloth and laid it in a tomb. John, chapter 19, tells us that another man, Nicodemus, was with Joseph. Nicodemus brought 100 pounds of spices to prepare Jesus’ body for burial.
Joseph and Nicodemus must have been very sad as they buried Jesus. But they were willing to take care of Jesus’ body even though other Jewish leaders could have arrested them. Joseph and Nicodemus wanted to show their love for Jesus.
I hope you love Jesus and are willing to follow and obey Him today
