It is autumn now in the United States. The green leaves are turning red, yellow, orange and brown. The air is cooler now, too. Our Bible Reading today reminds us that God created the earth, and He made a plan for the changing of the seasons.
Autumn is also the time when many things die. The grass, plants and trees turn brown and stop growing. But when spring comes again, the grass, plants and trees will grow again.
Autumn reminds me of something that happened more than 2000 years ago. Jesus died on the cross and was buried in a tomb. But just like flowers that die in the fall and bloom in the spring, Jesus arose from death to live forever.
As you watch the changing seasons, thank God that He controls the universe. And thank Him for sending Jesus to die and rise again.
