Beautiful Inside

Maybe you picked up a big, shiny, red apple. You were excited about eating it. But when you took a big bite, it was mushy and rotten inside. That apple was beautiful on the outside but ugly on the inside. People can be like that. They may look beautiful, but their lives are full of sin.
In our Bible Reading today, God told Samuel to choose the next king of Israel. Samuel was sure that Jesse’s oldest son, Eliab, was the right man. But God told Samuel in verse 7b, “Eliab is tall and handsome. But don’t think about things like that. God does not look at the things people see. People look only at the outside of a person, but the Lord looks at his heart. Eliab is not the right man.”
God didn’t choose Eliab. God chose David instead. Why? Because David was a man who wanted to obey God (1 Samuel 13:14b). God looked inside David’s heart and knew that he was the right man to become king.
I hope you will be like David and obey God today
