Bells (2)

Many people collect things. I collect bells. Most of my bells are china or ceramic. But each bell is different, and no two bells sound the same when they are rung. Some of my bells come from places where I have been. Others were given to me by people who were traveling.
I keep my bells in a special place to protect them from breaking. I like to look at the bells and remember where I got them or who gave them to me. But I must be careful not to spend too much time or money with this hobby. If I do, I might ignore God and His Word.
Our Bible Reading today reminds us that serving God is more important than money and things. We need to be careful how we use our time and money. We need to pay attention to things that really matter. “So save your treasure in heaven. The treasures in heaven cannot be destroyed by moths or rust. And thieves cannot break in and steal that treasure” (verse 20).
It’s okay to have a hobby. But remember to always put God first.
