Bible Fathers (5)

The last Bible father we will look at was part of a story that Jesus told. In the story, the father had two sons. The father divided up his wealth between the two sons.
Our Bible Reading tells us that one son took his money and went to another country. There the son “wasted his money living like a fool” (verse 13b) and spent everything that he had. Finally the son realized that he had been very foolish. He decided to go home and say to his father, “I have sinned against God and have done wrong to you” (verse 18b).
Verse 20b tells us, “While the son was still a long way off, his father saw him coming.” The father loved his son very much. I think that the father watched for the son every day. When the son got home, his father hugged him and kissed him and prepared a great meal for him.
This story is really talking about God and us. Sometimes we do foolish things and run away from God. But God still loves us. He is always waiting for us to come back to him. No matter what you have done, remember that God loves you and wants you to follow Him.
