My friend, Becky, does volunteer work at a nursing home. She leads singing for their worship service.
For many weeks, Becky noticed a man named George. He always sat with his head down. Becky always tried to encourage George with her smiles and her loving personality.
Finally one day, Becky walked passed George and realized he was holding his head high – and singing! Love and encouragement had helped George to praise God.
In today’s Bible Reading, Jesus talked about helping people. He did not mention fancy ways of helping people. Instead, Jesus talked about feeding hungry people, giving clothes to people who need them, visiting prisoners and taking care of sick people.
We can do the things that Jesus talked about. But we should not do them for rewards. We should do them because we want to be like Jesus.
I hope you can find ways to help people today.
