Call God

Sometimes when we make a phone call, we get a recorded message that says we have to wait to talk with a person. Maybe we have to wait 15 or more minutes. That’s a long time for a busy person to wait! When this happens to me, I become impatient. Sometimes I even give up before I can actually talk with a person.

Prayer is very important. That is the way we talk to God every day. But sometimes, like a phone call, we have to wait for God’s answer. When we want help right away, we don’t want to wait. But we need to be patient and wait for God’s answers and help.

In the Old Testament, the Israelites could only come to God through the high priest. Because of Jesus’ death on the cross, we now have direct access to God. The writer of Hebrews talks about this in Hebrews 4:16. “With Jesus as our high priest, we can feel free to come before God’s throne where there is grace. There we receive mercy and kindness to help us when we need it.”

When you pray to God today, thank Him that He is always available and that He will pay attention to your prayers. And be patient as you wait for God to answer your prayers in the best way possible.
