Celebrate (2)

When I think about Christmas Day, I think about the people who lived across the street from us a long time ago. They had moved to the United States from the country of Panama.
Every Christmas that family set up a big display of the town of Bethlehem. There was a stable for Mary, Joseph and Jesus. And there was a place for the shepherds outside the town. It was a beautiful scene, and all the neighbors were invited to see it.
How will you remember Jesus’ birthday today? Maybe you will celebrate with a family dinner. Or maybe you will sing Christmas songs and exchange presents. Whatever you do today, don’t forget that your celebration should be centered around Jesus.
Jesus didn’t come to earth to be a famous person. He came to die on the cross for YOU! Think today about the greatest gift of all — God’s gift of salvation. Then praise God like the shepherds did.
