People all over the world love to celebrate. We celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, religious days and national holidays. Sometimes we even celebrate when it is not a special day!
In our Bible Reading, David celebrated God. Verses 14 and 15 say, “David was dancing in front of the Lord. David was wearing a linen ephod. David and all the Israelites were excited — they shouted and blew the trumpet as they brought the Lord’s Holy Box into the city.”
In the New Testament, Matthew celebrated God, too. Matthew 9:10 tells us that Matthew had a party and invited people he knew. Maybe Matthew hoped that these people would follow Jesus, too.
We can celebrate God, too. We can sing and dance before God or have a party with good food and fellowship. We can show other people that we love and honor God through our celebration.
How will you celebrate God today?
