Celebrate Jesus

On Christmas Day, when my children were small, all the gifts would be unwrapped by 9 a.m. Then by New Year’s Day, I would put away all the holiday decorations. It looked like Christmas was over. But, as Christians, we should celebrate Jesus all year long.
Christmas is the celebration of the birth of our Savior. Jesus was born to the virgin, Mary. In our Bible verses today, we read that the angel told Joseph to name the baby Jesus. “Give him that name because he will save his people from their sins” (verse 21b).
Over 2,000 years ago, God gave His Son, Jesus, to the world. Jesus is better than any gift we could ever hope to receive. Through Jesus’ death and resurrection we have the promise of eternal life. That is something that we should always celebrate!
Celebrate Jesus’ birth this December. But remember to celebrate His gift of salvation every day of the year.
