Christmas Song

A favorite Christmas song in America is ?I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day.? The words of this song were written by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. He wrote these words during the time that the Civil War was happening in the United States.
Many bad things had happened to Henry before he wrote this song. His wife accidentally set her dress on fire. She died the next day from the burns. Then Henry received the news that his son, who was fighting in the Civil War, was wounded and probably dead.
Filled with sadness, Henry wrote the words to this song: ?Then pealed (rang) the bells more loud and deep. God is not dead, nor doth He sleep; the wrong shall fail, the right prevail (win), with peace on earth, good will to men.? Although Henry was sad, he knew that God was still leading his life.
God is in control of your life, too. You can always depend on Him to take care of you.
