Cities in Acts (3)

Lystra was a city in the area that we call Turkey today. Paul and Barnabas stopped in that city to tell the people about Jesus.
Our Bible Reading tells us that in Lystra, Paul and Barnabas healed a crippled man. When the people saw that the man was healed, they thought that Paul and Barnabas were gods. “The people began to call Barnabas ‘Zeus,’ and they called Paul ‘Hermes’” (verse 12a).
Paul and Barnabas were very upset. They told the people of Lystra that they were not gods. They also told them, “Turn to the true living God, the one who made the sky, the earth, the sea, and everything that is in them” (verse 15b). Then the people became angry and tried to kill Paul. So Paul and Barnabas left Lystra and went to another city.
Maybe today you will tell someone about Jesus, but they will refuse to listen. Keep sharing the news about Jesus with people who want to follow Him. Ask God to help you speak boldly for Him.
