Colossians (15)

For the past few days we have read Paul’s teachings in the book of Colossians. Paul has told us that we need to “take off” our old life and “put on” a new life in Jesus.
Paul continues in our verses today to tell us what we need to do so we can live a new life in Jesus. Verses 12b-13a say, “Show mercy to people; be kind, humble, gentle, and patient. Don’t be angry with each other, but forgive each other.”
Then in verse 14 Paul tells us what is most important. “Do all these things; but most important, love each other. Love is the thing that holds you all together in perfect unity.” If we want to be a new person in Jesus, we need to love other people.
Paul ends this chapter by telling us, “Everything you say and everything you do should all be done for Jesus your Lord (Master)” (verse 17a). Being a new person in Jesus is not a part-time job. We need to be a new person twenty-four hours every day!
If you follow Paul’s advice, you can be a new person today!
