Comfort Zone

I am not an adventurous person. I like to stay in my comfort zone and do things that I feel comfortable doing. But there have been times in my life when I was forced to leave my comfort zone.
Our Bible Reading today tells us that Peter and some of Jesus’ other followers were in a boat. Early in the morning, Jesus walked on the water to the boat. Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, if that is really you, then tell me to come to you on the water” (verse 28b).
Peter stepped out of the boat and walked to Jesus. But soon Peter noticed the waves and the wind. He became afraid, and he started to sink. But Jesus reached out and caught Peter by his hand.
Many people criticize Peter because he started to sink. But I notice that although Peter’s faith was small, he was willing to leave his comfort zone and walk to Jesus. He had enough faith to get out and walk on the water.
Maybe today God will ask you to do something that is hard for you to do. Don’t stay in your comfort zone. Trust God and do what He wants you to do.
