Comforting Hope

In our Bible Reading today, Peter is talking to a group of people at the Jewish celebration, Pentecost. Peter told the people about Jesus and His wonderful miracles. Then Peter talked about Jesus’ death. In verse 23b, Peter said, “But God knew all this would happen. It was his plan — a plan he made long ago.”
God knew from the beginning of the world that He would need to send His Son, Jesus, to earth to die for our sins. Because of Jesus’ death and resurrection, we have the hope of eternal life with God. This hope is comforting. It helps us when we are afraid or when we have problems in life.
What is happening in your life today? Are you facing times when you are afraid or when you doubt God’s plan for your life? Remember what Jesus did for you. Then think about the hope of spending forever in God’s presence.
