One thing I enjoy doing is touring old mansions. I always notice the tall windows and the fancy curtains. I wonder how they kept those windows and curtains clean!
Our Bible Reading today tells us about a fancy curtain in the Holy Tent. God designed this curtain, so we know that it must have been very beautiful. Verse 31 says, “Use fine linen and make a special curtain for the inside of the Holy Tent. Use blue, purple, and red yarn and sew pictures of Cherub angels into the curtain.” This curtain separated the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place. One time a year, the high priest would enter the Most Holy Place to make a sacrifice for the sins of the Israelites.
The New Testament tells us about a similar curtain that hung in the temple in Jerusalem. When Jesus died on the cross, that curtain was torn in two. That shows us that Jesus is the only one who can forgive our sins and bring us close to God. Thank God for sending Jesus to die for your sins!
