Death and Resurrection

Before I became a Christian, I did not understand about death. When I was an eight-year-old boy in Chile, I visited my grandfather on a farm. I saw some goats and llamas in the distance. As I started walking toward the animals, I saw a huge trench. I looked in the trench and saw bones and caskets. I was very scared, and I ran away quickly.
In our Bible Reading today, Paul taught about death and resurrection. He wanted to encourage the Christians in Thessalonica. Paul explained that “God will raise to life through Jesus any who have died and bring them together with him when he comes” (verse 14b).
I am a Christian. I don’t need to be scared about death like I was when I was eight years old. I know that Jesus died for me. He rose from death, and I, too, will be raised someday and live forever with Him.
You can be encouraged to know that God loves you and wants you to accept His gift of salvation and eternal life.
