When I went to school, the teacher wrote our lessons on a chalkboard. When she was done, she would erase the board. But when the teacher erased the board, you could still faintly see some writing on the board. To really clean the board, she had to wash it. Today when I type with my computer, it is easy to erase my mistakes — I just press the “delete” key on my keyboard, and the mistakes are gone.
Verse 1 of our Bible Reading says, “It is a great blessing when people are forgiven for the wrongs they have done, when their sins are erased.” When God erases our sins, they are completely gone. Ephesians 5:26b tells us that Jesus “died to make the church holy. He used the telling of the Good News to make the church clean by washing it with water.”
Because of Jesus’ death on the cross, we can have our sins deleted forever. Confess your sins to Him today, change your heart and mind and obey His Word.
