Doing Right (1)

When I was seven years old, my father lost his job as a printer. This was during the Great Depression of the 1930’s. My father moved my mother, my brother, my sister and me to live with my grandparents. By the time I was nine years old, my father had decided not to return to his family. My father’s decision to leave us has affected me all my life.
In our Bible Reading we learn about King Hezekiah. He was the king of Judah. His father, King Ahaz, did not follow God. He did many things that God did not like. But when Hezekiah became king, he decided to follow God. Then Hezekiah led his people to follow God, too.
Hezekiah could have been an evil king like his father. But instead, he decided to do what was right. I could have done bad things like my father did. But I have chosen to follow Jesus.
I know that I made the right choice when I decided to follow Jesus. And I hope that my Christian life will help other people want to follow Jesus, too.
