Yesterday we learned about the Israelites leaving Egypt. They must have been very happy to leave behind their life of slavery. But soon they became scared and doubted that God would take care of them.
Maybe you have felt like the Israelites did. You had a problem and felt frustrated. You tried to solve the problem but couldn’t do it alone. Then someone stepped in to help you. Maybe your mother or father or an older brother or a teacher at school took control and solved the problem for you. And you didn’t have to do anything at all!
That’s exactly what happened with the Israelites. Exodus 14:13-14 tells us what Moses told the Israelites. “But Moses anwered, ‘Don’t be afraid! Don’t run away! Stand where you are and watch the Lord save you today. You will never see these Egyptians again. You will not have to do anything but stay calm. The Lord will do the fighting for you.’” The Israelites stood and watched God perform a miracle for them. The water of the Red Sea parted and made a dry path for them to walk on.
God will help us, too – just like He helped Israelites. All we need to do is trust Him. Praise God for taking care of you and being with you every day.
