Eight People

The world was full of wicked people. But one man, Noah, “always followed God” (Genesis 6:9b). God decided to send a flood to destroy life on earth. But God promised to keep Noah and his family safe. There were eight people in Noah’s family — Noah, his wife, his three sons and their wives.
God told Noah to build a big boat. When the boat was finished, God told Noah to gather pairs of animals into the boat. Then Noah and his family went into the boat. They stayed there for many months.
God kept His promise to Noah. When the flood waters went down, God allowed Noah, his family and the animals to leave the boat. Then Noah built an altar and sacrificed some animals. In this way, Noah worshiped and thanked God.
God promised to send His Son, Jesus, to die for our sins. God kept this promise, too. Thank Him today for keeping His promise of salvation.
