I have weaknesses and flaws just like everyone else in the world. But sometimes I use these weaknesses as excuses. When I don’t want to do something, I say, “I can’t do that because I am too short or too old, or I don’t have the right skills.”

One Bible character who had some excuses was Moses. In our Bible Reading, God told Moses that He wanted him to go to Egypt and lead the Israelites to freedom. In verse 11, Moses shared some excuses with God. “I am not a great man! How can I be the one to go to Pharaoh and lead the Israelites out of Egypt?” But God assured Moses that He would help him and always be with him.

Often we focus on our weaknesses and think that we are not smart enough or talented enough to work for God. But God can use us, just as we are. And He has promised to be with us and help us. That’s all we need to be successful for God!
