Fellowship with God

In the beginning, Adam and Eve had a wonderful relationship with God. The first few chapters of Genesis show us that God walked in the garden and talked with Adam and Eve. They had a close fellowship with God.

Then things changed! Adam
and Eve sinned and disobeyed God. Genesis 3:8 tells us what happened next. “During the cool part of the day, the Lord God was walking in the garden. The man and the woman heard him, and they hid among the trees in the garden.” Why did Adam and Eve try to hide from God? Because they knew that they had disobeyed God.

Both Adam and Eve gave in to the devil’s temptation. God punished them for their disobedience. One of the punishments was that God threw Adam and Eve out of the beautiful garden. Adam and Eve’s relationship with God changed. They couldn’t talk and walk with Him in the garden any more.

It must have been wonderful to walk and talk with God. Even though I am not in the Garden of Eden today, I can still have fellowship with God. He talks to me through His Word, the Bible. And I can communicate with Him through prayer. Make sure that you spend time fellowshiping with God today!
