God Forgives

Years ago, I attended a Bible study. Two men in the group often brought up ideas that were controversial. One of their ideas was that God would not forgive a person who murdered someone.
The leader of our Bible study reminded these men about Paul. Before Paul became a Christian, he “agreed that the killing of Stephen was a good thing” (Acts 8:1). And Acts 9:1 tells us that Paul tried “to scare and kill the followers of the Lord (Jesus) all the time.” But God forgave Paul, and he became a great preacher for Jesus.
Verse 23 of our Bible Reading tells us that all people “have sinned and are not good enough for God’s glory.” But the next verse says that we can be made right with God through Jesus. No matter what we have done in our lives, God will forgive us if we ask for forgiveness and accept Jesus as our Savior.
Maybe you think that you have been too bad for God to forgive your sins. Remember that God “gave Jesus as a way to forgive people’s sins” (verse 25a).
