God’s Armor (6)

Long ago, soldiers wore helmets to protect their heads from being injured. Today, soldiers still wear helmets. Even motorcyclists and bicyclists wear helmets to protect themselves.
In our verses today, Paul says that Christians should accept “God’s salvation” as their helmet (verse 17a). A helmet protects a person’s head and brain. In the same way, salvation through Jesus protects our thoughts and keeps us focused on God and His Word.
The devil wants to tempt us to think bad thoughts and doubt God and His plan of salvation. But if we remember that Jesus loves us and died for us, we will stay close to God.
Maybe today the devil will tempt you to doubt that God really loves you and wants you to be His child. Keep remembering that Jesus died for your sins and gave you a way to receive eternal life.
