God’s Children

Once I was in a Bible class where we studied these verses from Romans. This led to a discussion about adoption.
One lady shared that she had been divorced. She was left alone with her young son. Later she remarried. Her new husband wanted to adopt her son, so he went through the legal process of adoption.
At the adoption hearing, the judge reminded the father about his responsibilities in raising the boy. He also told the man that this boy would have the same privileges as any future children that might be born into his family.
Our Bible Reading tells us that we are God’s chosen children. He chose us, like a person adopts a child. This happened because of Jesus’ death on the cross. Christians can call God their Father. And God gives His children special privileges because they are part of His family.
Thank God that He has chosen you to be part of His family.
