God’s Laws (2)

When we become Christians, Jesus forgives our sins. But even after we become Christians, we still need God’s forgiveness. In our Bible Reading today, we can read some verses that King David wrote about God’s forgiveness.
2 Samuel, chapter 11, tells us that David had sex with a married woman, and she became pregnant. David wanted to cover up his sin, so he had the woman’s husband killed. God’s prophet, Nathan, talked to David about his sin. 2 Samuel 12:13 says, “Then David said to Nathan, ‘I have sinned against the Lord.’ Nathan said to David, ‘The Lord will forgive you, even for this sin. You will not die.'” So David truly knew about God’s forgiveness.
When we sin, we need to first admit that we have sinned. Then, we need to ask God to forgive us. Finally, we need to have faith that God will forgive our sins. 1 John 1:9a is a wonderful promise for every Christian. “But if we confess (admit) our sins, then God will forgive our sins. We can trust God to do this.”
