God’s Power

In the Bible we read about people that God asked to serve Him. Some of these people gave excuses why they could not serve God. Other people started serving God and gave up. But then there were people who had some doubts but yet believed God could help them be strong.

Abraham sometimes doubted that God would give him a son. Moses was not sure that he could speak to Pharaoh and lead the Israelites out of Egypt. Maybe Abraham and Moses thought that their situations seemed impossible. But both of them believed in God’s power and did their best to serve Him.

Another person in the Bible who was willing to serve God was Mary. The angel Gabriel came to Mary and told her that she would have a son. Mary expressed confusion to Gabriel in Luke 1:34. “Mary said to the angel, ‘How will this happen? I am still a virgin.’” The angel explained that this would happen through God’s power. Mary was willing to let God use her to serve Him in a wonderful way.

We all have doubts, weaknesses and excuses. But when God asks us to do something, we should trust and obey Him. How will you serve God today? Will you be a willing servant and allow God to use you for His kingdom?
