God’s Promises

When we make a promise, we should be sure to keep that promise. When we don’t keep a promise, we feel bad and make other people sad. We are human, and sometimes we break our promises. But it is good to know that when God makes a promise, He always keeps it!
In our Bible verses, God made a promise to Abram. God told Abram that he would have a son and his family would be “so many you cannot count them” (verse 5b). Verse 6 tells us “Abram believed the Lord, and because of this faith the Lord accepted him as one who has done what is right.”
When we follow and obey God, we live the way God wants us to live. He wants us to trust Him and have faith in Him and His promises. We should be like Abram who “never doubted that God would do what he promised. He never stopped believing. In fact, he grew stronger in his faith and just pleased God” (Romans 4:20).
