God’s Promises (5)

All of us face temptations. Then it is our choice to give in to the temptation and sin, or not to sin. Even Jesus was tempted to sin. (You may read about Jesus’ temptation in Matthew 4:1-11.) But Jesus chose not to sin.
Sometimes when we are tempted, we think that we cannot say “no” to the temptation. But that is not true! Verse 13 of our Bible Reading is another promise from God. This verse reminds us that all people face the same temptations. This verse also tells us that God “will not let you be tempted more than you can bear. But when you are tempted, God will also give you a way to escape that temptation. Then you will be able to endure it.” Wow! This verse gives me comfort and strength. No matter what temptations I face, God will help me say “no.”
Maybe you have a sin problem in your life. Maybe you think that you can’t say “no” to some temptation. But you can say “no.” Trust God to help you turn away from the sin. He will give you the strength that you need.
