God’s Protection (2)

Yesterday we learned that God protected King Jehoshaphat. Later, three groups of people wanted to start a war with the people of Judah. Jehoshaphat was afraid, so he announced a time of fasting ( no eating) for the people. Many people came to the temple in Jerusalem. Jehoshaphat prayed to God and asked Him to help them conquer their enemies.
God paid attention to their prayers. He spoke through a man named Jahaziel. In verse 17a, he said, “You won’t need to fight in this battle. Stand strong in your places. You will see the Lord save you.”
The armies came to attack Judah. But verse 23 tells us that these armies killed each other. When the men from Judah came, “they only saw dead bodies lying on the ground. No person had survived” (verse 24b). The men of Judah did not even need to fight. God defeated their enemies.
This is an amazing story about God’s power and protection. He will protect you and me, too.
