Good News

Our Bible Reading tells us that Mary and Joseph went to Bethlehem. Augustus Caesar said that all the people under Roman rule had to register in their home towns.
Mary and Joseph arrived in Bethlehem, and soon Mary’s baby was born. “There was not enough room for them in the house. So Mary wrapped the baby with pieces of cloth and laid the baby in a box where cattle are fed” (verse 7b).
That night an angel appeared to some shepherds. The angel told the shepherds that Jesus had been born in Bethlehem. This was truly good news for the shepherds. Why? Because for many years, God’s people had waited for Him to send someone to save them from their sins.
The shepherds went to Bethlehem to see baby Jesus. They found Jesus, just as the angel had told them. The shepherds shared the good news that the angels had given to them.
Look for opportunities to share about Jesus with someone today.
