Good News for All

When Jesus left this earth, He gave His disciples a huge responsibility. He gave them the job of sharing the Good News about salvation with all people.
In our Bible Reading today, we learn that Philip healed some Samaritan people and told them about Jesus. The Jews and Samaritans had been enemies for many years. Most Jews would not even associate with a Samaritan.
In these verses we read that the message about Jesus can overcome social barriers. When Jesus’ disciples heard that the Samaritans had accepted the news about Jesus, they sent Peter and John to Samaria. They “prayed for the Samaritan believers to receive the Holy Spirit” (verse 15).
Today we have the job of sharing the Good News about Jesus with all people. But maybe there are some people who are different from you or maybe you just don’t like them. Ask God to help you break down these barriers so that you can share Jesus with everyone you meet.
