Grains of Sand

People at the University of Hawaii once tried to estimate the number of grains of sand in the world. They decided that there were 7 quintillion grains of sand on earth!
Psalm 139 tells us that God made each person in a special way. He knows every person who has lived on earth. Verses 17-18a say, “Your thoughts are important to me. God, you know so much! If I could count them, they would be more than all the grains of sand.” That means God thinks about us all the time!
Sometimes I get busy and I don’t pay attention to my young daughters. Then they will climb into my lap and look at me face-to-face. That is their way of reminding me to pay attention to them. But we don’t need to do that with God. God is always paying attention to us.
God is paying attention to you today. If you want to talk to God, you don’t have to buy a ticket and wait in line. And you don’t have to worry that God is too busy to care about you. God loves you, and He is always ready to listen to you.
