Sometimes we become greedy (selfish) and want things for ourselves. Maybe we look through the ads that come in the mail. We see nice things that we want. But probably we do not need these things; we just want them. And, if we got those things, we probably would not be satisfied. Then we would want more.
Many people want to earn more money so they can buy more things. It is easy to be like this in our world today. There is nothing wrong with having nice things, but we should not let those things be more important than our relationship with God. Our Bible Reading today reminds us in verse 5a, “Keep your lives free from the love of money. And be satisfied with the things you have.”
God has already given us what we need. He wants us to be thankful for what He has given us. If we are thankful, maybe we will use our money to help people. Instead of being greedy, we can be generous.
Look for ways to be generous with other people today.
