Happy New Year

Happy New Year! Today is the first day of 2007. This is a time to celebrate a new beginning. God has given each of us a new year to serve Him.
God wants every person to have a new beginning. Sometimes a new beginning involves change. God said in Ezekiel 18:31a, “Throw away all the terrible things (idols) you made – they only cause you to sin! Change your heart and spirit!” God told His special people, the Israelites, that they needed to get rid of the things that were causing them to sin. The Israelites needed to change their lives.
Changing something in your life is a good way to begin a new year. Some people call these changes “resolutions.” Maybe these people say, “I will lose weight this year.” Or, “I will read my Bible more this year.”
What changes do you want to make in 2007? Maybe you need to get rid of some sins in your life. Or maybe you are not a Christian. Then you need to accept Jesus as your Savior and start living for Him.
Today is a good day to change your life. Ask God to help you serve Him better.
