The last part of the head we will talk about is the tongue. In our Bible Reading, James talks about the tongue. It doesn’t matter if we use our tongues or our hands to communicate. But we do need to make sure that our communication pleases God.
Our communication can be good or bad. We communicate in a bad way when we complain, gossip, tell lies, use God’s name in a bad way, boast or insult other people. James reminds us that we need to control our communication. If not, it “spreads its evil through our whole body” (verse 6b).
We have good communication when we praise God, pray, encourage and comfort other people, teach from God’s Word and share the Good News about Jesus.
How will you communicate today? Ask God to help your communication be good.
