Children love to play a game of hide and seek. Sometimes the person who is searching cannot find their friends. So they say, “Come out wherever you are!” The children leave their hiding places and continue the game.
Our Bible Reading today tells us that Adam and Eve disobeyed God. So what did they do? They tried to hide from God. “During the cool part of the day, the Lord God was walking in the garden. The man and the woman heard him, and they hid among the trees in the garden. The Lord God called to the man and said, ‘Where are you?’ The man said, ‘I heard you walking in the garden, and I was afraid. I was naked, so I hid’” (verses 8-10).
Hiding from friends while playing a game is fun. But trying to hide from God is foolish. God knew where Adam and Eve were. They just didn’t want to face God and their sin. God is loving and willing to forgive our sin. Don’t try to hide from Him. Ask Him to bring you into a right relationship with Him.
