Hurtful Words/Signs

James 3:2a says, “We all make many mistakes. If there were a person who never said anything wrong, then that person would be perfect.” I am not perfect. You are not perfect. We all say/sign things that hurt other people. But when we hurt someone, we can’t take back our words or signs. So what can we do?
First, we can admit that we did something wrong and ask God to forgive us. Second, we can ask the person we hurt to forgive us. Third, we can ask people who heard our words or saw our signs to forgive us. Fourth, we can ask God to take control of our communication.
Finally, we can spend some time learning what the Bible says about communication with others. In our Bible Reading today, Paul tells us not to say bad things or be angry. Instead, we should be “kind and loving to each other. Forgive each other the same as God forgave you in Christ” (verse 32).
Be loving and kind when you communicate with others today.
