Hymns (3)

At Thanksgiving time, we thank God for our blessings throughout the year. But sometimes we forget to thank Him every day for the wonderful ways He takes care of us.
Martin Rinkart (1586-1649) wrote the hymn, “Now Thank We All Our God,” while his country was involved in a terrible war. There was much sickness and hunger during the war. One year, Martin conducted over five thousand funerals for people who had died! Yet, he was able to write the wonderful words of this hymn: “Now thank we all our God with heart and hands and voices.”
Psalm 147 lists many wonderful things that God does for us — making the grass grow, sending rain and snow, and providing food for us and for the animals.
Look around at the world today and see the many things God has done for you. Then thank Him for His wonderful blessings.
