Judah was the southern kingdom where God’s people lived. Their king was a man named Jehoshaphat. He loved God and obeyed Him. Jehoshaphat destroyed the idols in his kingdom. He also taught the people to follow God.
2 Chronicles 17:7-9 tells us that Jehoshaphat sent teachers to teach the people about God’s laws. 2 Chronicles 19:4-11 tells us how Jehoshaphat brought people back to God. He also chose godly judges to make good decisions for the people.
God blessed Jehosphaphat. Why? Because Jehoshaphat loved God. 2 Chronicles 17:10-19 tells how the other countries around Judah were afraid of Jehoshaphat. These verses also tell us that God made Jehoshaphat’s armies strong. 2 Chronicles, chapter 20, shows us how God saved Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah from their enemies.
When we choose to love and obey God, He promises to bless us. God might not give us lots of money or possessions, but He will give us everything we need!
