Jesus (6)

In our Bible Reading, Jesus calls Himself “the Son of Man.” This is an interesting title for Jesus. This title describes the life and character of Jesus.
The phrase “son of man” is used many times in the Old Testament, especially in the book of Ezekiel. In these Old Testament verses, however, the phrase refers to a person but it does not refer to Jesus.
But in the New Testament, the phrase “Son of Man” is used eighty times by Jesus when He is talking about Himself. It was the first title that Jesus used. In verse 20b of our Bible Reading, Jesus said, “…the Son of Man has no place to rest.”
Calling Jesus “Son of God” shows us that He is holy. Calling Jesus “Son of Man” shows us His human nature. Jesus came to earth to live among people. He knows our weaknesses and failures. Jesus was tempted, but He never sinned.
Jesus, the “Son of Man” is the perfect example for us to follow. Follow and obey Him today.
