Jesus and Prayer (1)

Prayer was a very important part of Jesus’ life. He spent a lot of time teaching His disciples how to pray. Today and for the next three days, we will look at Jesus’ teaching about prayer.
In our Bible Reading, Jesus gave His disciples an example of how to pray. Jesus began this prayer by calling God “our Father.” When we call God “Father,” we show that we have a personal relationship with Him.
Jesus taught in this prayer that we should pray for God’s will in our lives. “We pray that your kingdom will come — that what you want will be done here on earth, the same as in heaven” (verse 10). And, we should pray for our needs. “Give us the food we need for today” (verse 11). Jesus also said that we need to pray for protection from the devil. “Don’t let us be tempted, but save us from the Evil One” (verse 13).
Jesus’ prayer shows us that it is easy to talk to God. We can talk to Him any time and in any place. Take time to communicate with God today!
