Jesus and Prayer (4)

Our Bible Reading today is a prayer that Jesus prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane. Jesus prayed this prayer on the night before He was crucified.
Jesus began this prayer by talking about eternal life. “And this is eternal life: that people can know you, the only true God, and that they can know Jesus Christ, the one you sent” (verse 3). Then Jesus prayed that His disciples would obey God and be protected from the devil.
Finally, Jesus prayed for all people who would believe in Him. That night in the garden, Jesus prayed for you and me! “Father, I pray that all who believe in me can be one. You are in me and I am in you. I pray that they can also be one in us. Then the world will believe that you sent me” (verse 21).
Jesus was concerned about other people. He prayed for His disciples, and He prayed for us. Be like Jesus today. Pray for your family, your friends and people who need to know about Jesus.
